Getting Started

Create your first subject, add a few interactives, and play your first lesson. Everything you need to go from signup to learning in about five minutes.

Interact turns notes, links, and videos into interactive lessons, backed by spaced repetition so you actually remember what you learn. This guide takes you from a fresh account to your first review session in about five minutes.

1. Create your account

Sign up for free with your email, Google, or Apple account. No credit card required. The free plan includes unlimited manual interactives, unlimited reviews, and 10 AI generations per month.

2. Create a subject

Subjects are the core building blocks of Interact. A subject represents one topic you want to learn: Spanish, astronomy, music theory, anything.

  1. Open the Plan page
  2. Click New Subject
  3. Give it a name and pick an emoji

You can nest subjects inside each other later, so don't overthink the structure. Start with one topic you care about.

3. Add your first interactives

There are two ways to fill a subject with material, and you can mix them freely.

Generate with AI. Open the Create page, paste your notes, a web link, or a YouTube video, and Interact builds interactive lessons from the content. See Generating Lessons with AI for the full tour.

Create by hand. Write your own flashcards, fill-in-the-blank exercises, and quizzes. It's fast, and hand-made cards are often the ones that stick best. See Creating Interactives by Hand.

4. Play a lesson

Once a subject has a few interactives, play through it. Flip cards, fill in blanks, answer quizzes, and grade yourself as you go. Your answers feed the spaced repetition system that schedules future reviews.

5. Come back tomorrow

This is the part that makes Interact work. The Learn page queues up whatever is due for review each day. A few minutes daily beats an hour of cramming, and your streak keeps you honest.
