Spaced Repetition & the Learn Queue

Everything you learn starts fading the moment you learn it. Spaced repetition fights that by scheduling reviews right around the time you'd otherwise forget, and each successful review pushes the next one further out. Days become weeks become months, and the material becomes yours.

The Learn queue

The Learn page is where reviews happen. Each day it gathers the interactives that are due and queues them up. Open it, play through the queue, and you're done. Most days that's just a few minutes.

You never have to decide what to study. The scheduler decides for you, which is the point: the material you're about to forget is exactly the material worth reviewing today.

How grading works

When you answer an interactive, you grade how it went. Honest grading is the whole game:

• Got it easily? The next review moves further out.
• Got it, but barely? The interval grows a little.
• Missed it? The interactive comes back soon so you can rebuild it.

There's no penalty for missing. A miss just means the schedule adapts. Grading yourself harshly and honestly makes the system work better, not worse.

Why daily beats cramming

Cramming works for tomorrow's test and evaporates by next month. Spaced repetition inverts the deal: small daily sessions, long-term retention. Ten minutes a day, every day, will quietly outperform a weekly two-hour session, because the schedule depends on catching material at the right moment.

Streaks

Your streak counts the days you show up. It's a simple mechanic, but pairing "did I review today?" with a visible number is remarkably effective at making the habit stick.

Getting the most out of it

• Keep the queue at zero. A small daily habit prevents a scary backlog.
• Grade honestly. The scheduler can only work with what you tell it.
• If an interactive keeps missing, edit it. Persistent misses usually mean the card is too big or too vague.
